Power from waste heat
...good summary and important. This could seriously augment existing power and cut CO2 emissions significantly. If cheap enough it would also bail-out a lot of power utilities struggling to meet demand.
I can see this having a great application in small scale pebble-bed nukes by doing away with a heat exchanger stage or two. And as efficiency rises it makes space-based nukes much more viable and reliable - tho rad-damage might degrade the crstallographic properties needed by the thermoelectric material.
By any measure very COOL... ;-)
