The neo-cons running the Bush Administration have a view of science which has much more in common with the Roman Catholic Church in the Middle Ages, or the current Creationists and Flat Earthers.

First, they decide what they want to believe. Then they attack anything which disagrees, already knowing it must be wrong because they don't want to believe it.

Pretty well covers everything for them. Including global warming. "If man is contributing to global warming, then we might have to do something, don't want to do anything, so there's no global warming." QED, for them.
