Here's an update on the Kosovo quagmire and the recurrent inability of UN troops to quell a riot, never mind dealing with anything fierce. But some folks stubbornly support a "nuanced" presidential candidate who postures that the UN should be the solution and permission slip giver in the War on Terror. Other than the faux UN force winning a stalemate in Korea, I can't think of many notable UN successes. I credit the good part of Kosovo success to Clinton's responsible leadership and intervention in what should have been a European solution, but given the ineptness of EU military (UK excepted) it was clear that nothing could be acvcomplished without the US military.
