"Lack of funds and equipment, internal bickering, diffuse and confused command, UN bureaucratic inefficiency and corruption, unclear political objectives, absurd restrictions on using weapons and cultural ignorance all add up to ineffective messes."

The UN is what we made of it. The reason we have made it what it is is because the Isreali expansion wing fears UN occupation of the West Bank and Gaza - not only no new settles, but existing settlements removed.

Right now that's about 250,000 people since Camp David under Carter.

Whoever becomes president, they're going to be faced with a nuclear armed country (Israel), which is full of people who are absolutely traumnatized, having watched their relatives be murdered in Germany under Hitler, and who are engaged in grabbing more Palestinian land, enragaging about another 1,000,000,000 people, among whom are those who sell us a large part of the oil which our economy absolutely needs to function.

Given that mess, you'd have to be crazy to want to be President, and THAT"S EXACTLY THE CASE for both W. Bush and Kerry.
