CBO still tends to use static scoring in its projections
They totally missed the relatively budget deficits of the late 1990's, and they tend to be not much better than long term weather predictions.
But giving the left free ammunition is not going to happen.
The deficits are horrible and not to be unexpected during a war while the economy is recovering from a lingering recession.
The CBO projections on future deficits will likely be wrong and far too high. The long term stimulus of the Bush taxcuts (passed by hughe bipartisan majorities in both houses) were common sense, correct and will help us over the long run.
