After Ryan's campaign thankfully imploded, and then Obama's brilliant speech at the Dem convention, the latter looks unstoppable. Why would someone want to go up against that? I don't blame Illinois Republicans for sitting on their hands, especially since Obama makes a great deal of sense.

He can use the word "opportunity" without a sneer. He doesn't drone on and on and on about things that'll never come to pass, no matter how nice and cuddly they sound. He's taken a lot of the best planks from both parties' platforms to build his own vision. And what's more, I think the man's genuinely WYSIWYG.
