Which Candidate Won PA last Time?

There's also a reason political polls are distinguished as scientific and non-scientific. non-scientific are uncontrolled or self-selected. Scientific polls use methodology to ensure the sample is as representative as possible. Science applies even in politics. It gets artsy when interpretations of the data are made. Polls show it's close in PA now. I think it was last time too. If true that means your anecdotal evidence is either incorrect or a local anomoly.
