"…and extreme strangeness."
Way back in my college years, I attended a lecture/speaking engagement by Allen Hynek. Afterwards, during Q&A, I was very impressed with his candor and skepticism. To sum it up, he basically said, (Paraphrasing now) "…once you get past the 99.9% of reports that are either, hoaxes, misidentifications of natural phenomena and or conventional aircraft, we're left with nothing but a subset that is characterized only by anecdotal evidence, and an extreme strangeness factor."
When pressed by another questioner, he replied (Paraphrasing again) that his "gut" feeling was that the subset had nothing to do with Earth being visited by extra-terrestrials. Going further, he said he did not believe the subset reports had "a nuts and bolts physicality"
In case nobody's noticed, there is a very strong aversion on this site to discussing anomalistic phenomena.
Why? Because a lot of the folks here are in one respect or another professionals embedded in the field of science.
Science is a discipline, not a belief. There is no wiggle room for "maybe?"
Is there room for an "Anomalistic Board"? (Within Habitablezone?)
I really hope not.
