At the science meeting The best picture of the galctic center ever taken before was put up, then they showed the pictures you just saw that were taken using the laser guide star... it was like night and day.
Those pictures show what was happening at the center of our galaxy 24,000 years ago- about the time when our greatest 'scientific' works were paintings on cave walls.
Am I the only one that finds it nearly unbelievable that we have come so far in only 1000 generations? We have power and luxuries that would be considered 'god-like' just a few generations ago. The cutting edge of our technology would stun people 30 years ago... I was 3 years old then.
My grandfather saw the first car roll into his town, I had a grandmother that rode a horse to school. both lived to see men walking on the moon. The pace is rapidly accelerating... The vast majority of us will live to see a world that we could never imagine today... at this rate of change it only requires that you live a few years more.
