Space/Science » in reply to Circadian rhythms

An off-topic question re trip to Mars.

I know that on the Shuttle laptops generally crash a couple of times a day due to gamma and other radiation.

A Mars trip would require quite a few computers of dizzying complexity. How well could they be protected for that length of time.

I know that Cassini has computers, will run for a long time, and apparently they are robust. Don't know how complicated, comparatively.

And I suspect there is a simple solution to this, just don't know what it is.
