You have to know the goal, first. Only one thing makes sense.

Obviously, it wasn't regime change the US was really after. Saddam's gone, we're still there.

Wasn't WMDs. We've looked, there are none. We're still there.

Isn't "freedom" for the Iraqi people. One doesn't treat people they care about in the way the US has treated the Iraqis. Too much "collateral" damage, too much excessive force. Even the Brits and Aussies have complained about this.

So what's left? The way the US is acting, it wants a colony, in effect. A government which is friendly to the US, will enforce the Halliburton contracts.

No matter what the "people" want. It's clear they want the US out of there.

The US is currently trying to force Iraqis to support the puppet government, willing to kill them if they don't. The "elections" are a sham, as only people approved by the current puppet government can run. A bit like Eastern Europe during the Cold War. The Soviets would only let people they liked run for office.

And, it's a bit like Saddam and the Soviets, isn't it? I mean, telling the people to support the puppet government or we'll kill you.

So, clearly the goal is imperialism, a colony in the Middle East, an anchor for what the Paks consider the real goal, the take-over of Iran, Syria, Lebanon, etc.

Otherwise the behavior doesn't make sense.
