Like Kerry, there are vague noises about "internationalizing" it, although when pressed for details they run for cover. Kerry thinks if you bribe France and the others, they may come into it.
If they are honest, they admit that their alternative was the status quo, resting on the less-than-firm foundation of United Nations competence in the face of Saddam's past behavior of deceit, a fervent ambition to possess WMD, and a known record of manufacturing them and using them in war.
Their other alternative, also not often expressed honestly, is surrender.
I believe that Kerry will cut and run at the first opportunity if elected President. Whatever he may say in speeches now, we have 30 years of a specific philosophy and behavior pattern on record for him, and it's obvious that his core beliefs are anti-war, appeasement, and backing away from conflict.
As for the rest, we might as well just deal with the fact that the hard and bloody work needs to get done in spite of those yelling and throwing crap from the peanut gallery.

None of them have a better answer for Iraq, and they never did.
