Yes, there's always a chance that this story isn't true. However, there seems to be a lot more to back up the story than that other one. Time will tell.

Still, I wonder why those 6 people with him didn't do something to protect him, like kicking the crap out of the attacker. One of those 6 appears to have been his mother. Don't know the ages or genders of the others, but there's no way I'd stand by and let some dickhead pound on someone I cared about.
