The disclaimer at the beginning, stating that advances in trauma medicine have affected statistics, is a chilling observation. We have very good trauma medicine in this country, and unlike other health problems, most hospitals will wait to haggle over money until after the crisis is over.
The level of violence is still too high. The level of "successful" murders is still too high.
