If you are getting an AS now chances are I went to school long before you and I was taught Custer was an overconfidant glory hound beaten by brave and wilely Indians. Then again maybe I read that on my own sometime during my school years so many decades ago (2+, but if you're over 40 you probably feel the same). At any rate the info was readily available a long time ago.

Our country was not incredibly evil. Evil is a part of human history wherever you look. Ours had far less than some ridiculous excuses for democracy like say France. There's a country that turned a Democratic revolution into a tyranny followed by an Empire the first time in their history they actually were a top military power and then participated in genocide during WW2. The people that lack a historical understanding are those that put France on a pedistal.
