I understand that Europe's approach, especially that of France, is that any evil will go away if you stop bothering it. France rolled over for the Nazis. Some point out that France is still in one piece today, having avoided a full-out war with Germany, and that the Nazis are gone. I suppose that's one point of view. Surrender, and nobody gets hurt.
