Damn Tom, could it not have been that the celebrations were about the END of a horrible war and the killing of American boys? Wow, why do you even want to stay in a country where you think so little of your fellow citizens to believe that some huge block of them celebrated the loss of the war and the embarassment we were all feeling at the time? Listen to yourself. If I did any celebrating it was out of relief not pride.
And as to those that celebrated Nixon's resignation, could they possibly have been celebrating the end of the bleeding our country was going through over the chaos in their government? What, were we celebrating getting Gerald Ford as our president? Nice guy and all but hardly worth a raised beer.
Sheesh, you get scarier every post.
