Hi Tom
"Galileo" is not the best of the juveniles by a long shot, it's just a personal favourite. For the best... hmmm... I still like "Space Cadet", but "Red Planet's" Martians are more compellingly alien than the Venusians.
Your computer tech comments make Asimov's tales an interesting example of getting it right (sort of) as he had pocket calculators in "Foundation", microelectronics used in the "Lens" in "Foundation and Empire", a voice writer in "Second Foundation", for example. He had desk-top computers in "End of Eternity" and a micro-recorder like a recording iPod in there too. Where he gets it wrong is in placing such developments millennia ahead in time... oh well.
