I don't like any talk up prior to these things. I like it even less when the major media (Jennings, Brokaw, Rather) talk over Jim Lehrer's initial comments just to show him who is boss. I'm not a big fan of Fox News commentators either. Yes, they're the opposite side, but they're still media. Media can't help but be unsympathetic as a rule.
On a related note, I just don't watch live TV much. Perhaps an hour a week. If I try out a new show and like it, I'll wait until the whole season comes out on DVD and watch it over a few days like a long feature film. That's how I watched ALIAS--which is halfways decent for that type of spy show. I record any specials so that I can fast-forward through commercials. Minimizing TV exposure. Watching the local news now with their milking stories and incessant commercials is no longer an option. The web pulls up the same stuff as quickly and catching local and global news can be done in a few minutes on Google news.

- Here is a pretty good preview of what you will hear
- Is it true?
- Probably a combination of missing the beginning...
- I'll probably watch some of it
- Anyway, with all the restrictions, it's more of a dual press conference than a debate.
