are the Iraqi insurgents

Bush got himself into fantastic contradictions!

First he declares war to terrorism.

Then he invades a sovereign country, unrelated to 9/11, thus being effectively at war against another country.

Wars have their own logic, their own rules and one of them is that there's another side, the enemy. That other side represents a country and can be talked to. It happened to end WW2, the Vietnam war, the first Gulf war.

To get peace back in Iraq, talks are needed, but this means the other side must be invited.

No way says the US, because the enemy are the terrorists!!

So, is it war against a country or a fight against terrorism?

Has terrorism allied itself to Iraqi nationalists?

Whith whom can the US talk to to bring order back in Iraq?
Obviously, it must be somebody who disturbs it!

Mixing war with fight against terrorism does have unintended consequences!

A year ago, some of the liberals here said it looks like the US wants to make Iraq its colony; No way say the others, the US has no intention in staying in Iraq. No intention?? But there is no intention nor timeline to leave Iraq!! The US is slowly but surely creating its new colony out there; Certainly not the same kind as previous empires had (each empire had its own form of colony and its own way of leaving it).
Previous empires considered their colony as part of their own territory and therefore, relinquishing it was out of the question.
But then, realism prevailed.
It will also prevail in this case.
