Amazing that the Republicans who don't have a lick of patience in dealing with Iraq and terrorism, can't see the immediacy of the oil problem. They fail to see that natural market forces also contain the greed component which, in my way of thinking, is simply not looking out for the best interests of mankind.
The natural market, of which there are some wonderful entrepeneurs and innovators, has this dark side to it. If the conscience of those Darth Vaders isn't spurred by some serious incentive from forces more powerful than they are, they will exploit all others around them until every last penny is squeezed in their direction. They have nothing to fear. Their power ensures that they personally will survive any catestrophic conditions. Hell, they'll profit immensely from a global energy crisis.
It's simply delusional to think otherwise. Man, I wish I had some swamp land to sell these guys.

I so agree. Timetable's too short for procrastination.
