The problem is that the Democrats frequently go TO FAR. Their well-intended programs often wind up as disasters; for example, the WELFARE monster.

We MUST have anti-pollution laws. But, when the officious bureaucrats decide to jam a monkey-wrench into the wheels of commerce, that is going to far. There are so many examples of this that it is hardly necessary to post a reference.

In other words:

The Repulicans IGNORE environmental problems.
The Democrats establish bureaucracies that work only to perpetuate their own existence, and therefore to perpetuate the very problems that they were created to solve. The Department of Energy (created by Jimmy Carter) is one example. It does nothing. It will never go away.

There seems to be no middle road here, no effective action.
