Not always.
This whole mess originated when I pointed out that only about 4 percent of gun murders (which would, I assume, include drive-by shootings) involve rifles, and that making "assault rifles" any more illegal than they already are probably wouldn't change the overall picture much. The discussion went into a death spiral from there.
I recommend eating a cookie. Those round powdered sugar covered ones from Trader Joe's are fantastic, and I can't find them this year. It might be the Pfeffernusse.
