This information can be interpreted in several ways. For my part, I cannot interpret it to mean that the type of weapon proposed for banning as "assault weapons" -- semi-automatic military-type rifles -- is the main problem in gun violence in this country.
When someone tells me it's all about things like AK-47s, and then furiously rides that premise clear down to the ground in the face of the statistics, I'm at a loss.
