Plans for DEMISE of ROVERS?

Anybody in the know on what will happen to the rovers when the wheels freeze up or any other major malfuntion keeps them from traversing the martian terrian? Like, they park 'em in a good spot and have them relay info to the orbiters on current conditions? Should be a low cost project and have rotating crews man the system...No need to turn them completely off. right?
