In point of fact, the body tries to detoxify if marijuana is smoked. It does this by dilating the blood brain barrier - this in turn releaves inter-ocular pressure.

As for marinol, if it works without the side effect of intoxication, then that is to the good. As I myself have never heard of marinol being used, I doubt if it is effective. It looks to me like an excuse, rather than a pharmaceutical.

And I note that by waving the marijuana abuse flag, you're also avoiding the issue of the "side effects" of heroin, the very effects which make it so useful in allowing people in dire situations to function.

The issue here is politicians confusing abuse with medical use, politicians practicing medicine. In these cases, they have absolutely no constitutional right to intrude on the doctor patient relationship. It is simply not within their purview - only addressing abuse and diversion of medicines are.

Finally, while you have guts enough to at least engage in discussion of this, or better I should say the lack of common sense to try and bs me on this, note carefully our candidates careful avoidance of the issue.
