I bet Gary could tell you how to do it. I think he built his own ODBII reader. Following your thinking, I'd like to see the day when heavy equipement in the field will call the shop asking for service or other scheduled maintenance.

Some things you just know can be done, but finding out how to do it is the kicker- like how to use sensor inputs.
