With apologies to Ann Coulter. I don't always agree with her.
But here I'll make the case she made....
Today's Democrats are living off of a 70 year-old legacy, that is fast
becoming irrelevant, stale and outmoded.
That 70 year-old legacy has left that party bankrupt, as far as political currency goes.
That 70 year old legacy featured the "New Deal" and FDR, John F Kennedy and "the New Frontier"; Martin Luther King Jr. and "his dream", and
the "call it as it is" advocacy journalism of Edward R. Murrow.
And those four had genuine ideals and causes worth championing.
TODAY, instead of Franklin D Roosevelt, John F Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr and Edward R. Murrow, the Democrats have Jimmy Carter, Ted Kennedy, Reverend Al Sharpton and Dan Rather.
No future legacy for the Democrats it appears, unless perhaps they appeal
to a libertarian, isolationist and an increasingly self-indulgent mass of people.
No wonder Zell Miller is fed up with the donkey party now full of donkeys.
