Because someone reads a report about a mugging by a black man, that doesn't justify crossing the street every time she sees someone who's black, or everytime she sees a man.
Because some women use their gender as a vehicle, that doesn't mean it's OK for a man to treat the next woman he meets the same way. Yet vestiges of droit du seigneur persist.
Frank has it right: full cooperation is the key. Let the predators prey on each other. They understand the rules.
Also, sometimes a woman will use her gender because of her situation. Unable to cultivate her other talents to their full advantage, she uses the talent that she is allowed to use. Or, trained to give it up to Daddy, or the neighbor guy, or Mommy's boyfriend, it becomes a natural way to act when she grows up.
Things have changed, some. Not enough.
Your family is prepared to treat one side of the issue by educating its girls in how not to act, and to defend its girls from the other side. The secret is to empower the girls to defend and support themselves, both from inside their hearts and by giving them the legal and social tools to do so.
Frankly, I don't care about O'Reilly anymore, and haven't for quite a while. I watched him bully people on his program for a week once, and have had no more regard for him than I would for a yappy lap dog since. I'm not surprised at the charges, because bullies in public are bullies in private too. But I'm content to let the courts sort it out.
As a matter of curiosity, though: do you think that conservatives will make an exception to the Zero Tolerance For Sex policy for one of their own? Will it be, in Biblical fashion, Eve's fault?
