Of course, Mr. Simon is always doing this - assuming on a whim that geologic features in various rover images are biology and then demanding refutation. Yup...black spots on rocks that you can see with the naked eye have to be gargantuan bacilli and nothing else.
Of course, since Mr. Simon is postulating that these spots are giant microbes, perhaps he should first properly falsify all other explanations. Then he'll have to offer up some reasonable evidence as to why this should be regarded as biology - something better than just making it up.
