Antimatter's Current Status

Hi All

This pre-print discusses the current prospects for large scale antimatter production and confinement, arguing for a dedicated production facility in the USA to explore anti-protons for cancer therapy, fundamental physics, spiking RTGs and ultimately propulsion.

There is a crying need for anti-protons as a targeted means of tumour necrosis. There is also a lot of basic physics that needs anti-protons by the trillion. And a few more could allow direct synthesis of radio-isotopes instead of extracting them out of reactor wastes. Heck, enough of them could burn up reactor wastes even more efficiently than proton-beam hot-spots.

And with a break-through or two engendered by all the new research we might even find a way of making enough efficiently for propulsion. Anti-matter triggered fission/fusion pulse drives anyone?
