Well, that's appalling.

One must have information to make appropriate decisions.

I would like to know (I can guess, but that's not knowing) who is behind this suppression of research. If it were only happening in DC, I could believe it was some RNC initiative. The involvement of the states, though, indicates a more far-reaching effort.

Florida and others. I wonder who those others are.

I wonder what those proposed laws are. Or are they regulations, which could just slide by without public debate?

Following links out from the JAMA article.

It's well known that people ignore their doctors, so this kind of research doesn't necessarily have a predictable effect. To suppress it is reprehensible.

Over 30 years ago, I went to a shooting range and squeezed off a few rounds from a handgun. I hit the target, once. They said I could be a good shooter, with practice. (They probably said that to all the girls. :D ) That was the last time I shot anything except a SuperSoaker or a Nerf Gun. The only thing I can say about owning a gun is that, if you're curious, get yourself invited to a range and try one. If you don't like it, you shouldn't get one. Either way, you'll understand them a little better.
