There is a difference in scale, but it's hard to point fingers with dirty hands and not look hypocritical. There's also the matter of many Christians willing to engage in a holy war against Islam. I really don't think the focus on religion other than encouraging moderate Muslims to speak up is appropriate. There a bad people in both faiths using religion to justify evil acts. It's a fundamental problem with organizations that ask their followers to accept directions based on faith and platitudes rather than reason. That mindset makes people more amenable to fanatacism, tribalism, abuse, and irrational acts. The recent scandal in the Catholic church shows the expectation of blind faith can easily be abused in any religion.
