"Feeble attempt at cowing pro kerry space geeks" by Buck removed...

...at the request of the copyright holder.

Buck, copying-and-pasting the entire text of an article goes way, way, way beyond "fair use". A sentence or two, maybe even a paragraph, would have sufficed, with your link. BTW, the link alone isn't sufficient acknowledgment of a source, since it didn't display the name of the source of the material. We have the <CITE> tags for identifying the source, designed to follow right after <BLOCKQUOTE>. It needs to be visible.

I wouldn't be surprised if there haven't been more little faux pas like this around here. Some Zoners do tend to overuse copy-and-paste. Tighten it up, people!

Besides, it's your words that matter around here. Copy-and-paste is a crutch...hey, what do you say we all pledge to go an entire week writing completely original posts? No pasting-in somebody else's words--use only links. Just the fruits of our own minds. Create a pure, pristine hypertext, following the principle that the Web most nearly approaches perfection when no text is ever duplicated but any text can be instantly incorporated by reference into any other.

For some people it might be akin to giving up smoking. Interesting experiment...
