Key quote:
"The U.S. Army was at the site one day after the liberation and the weapons were already gone"
This is probably the first of many "October" surprises. The story broke when an "anonymous source" from the Pentagon revealed that the explosives had been lost. True to form, seeing an opportunity to embarrass the President, the MSM snap up the story like a pig on a cow turd. I note with amusement that our local liberals also got suckered (wiser heads over at Command Post were immediately suspicious).
I suspect the "anonymous source" in the Pentagon was a shill working for Rove. This was almost certainly a clever ploy to discredit the MSM and embarrass Kerry.
Now the $64,000 question: What happened to the tons of ultra high explosives that disappeared while Saddam was still in charge?
One suspects it's buried with the VX artillery shells, nuclear weapon prototypes and other WMD paraphernalia.
Isn't politics fun?
