No, I'm not. And, how about reading my posts properly, and not misinterpret me?
however the real meaning of the post was about hunting for sport, rather than for food or necessary culling.
Ok, now regarding the question of the terrible suffering of animals which are killed for food, which you describe so well: I almost never eat non-kosher meat, even though I am not particularly observant. My other link, again in this very thread, explains kosher slaughtering:
Kosher slaughtering is designed to be as fast and painless as possible, and if anything occurs that might cause pain (such as a nick in the slaughtering knife or a delay in the cutting), the flesh may not be consumed.
That's also why some non-Jews also eat only kosher meat, by the way.
As for your taking exception to my description of the US as having a "violent streak' - you may, or may not be right, but I'm not in the mood to discuss it with someone who doesn't read me properly. Even here, once again, you didn't read my word streak - which does not imply a totality or anything widespread.
Get back to me when you're ready to read me properly.
