Taiwan calls Powell speech ‘big surprise’ The Associated Press
Updated: 12:37 p.m. ET Oct. 26, 2004TAIPEI, Taiwan -

"Secretary of State Colin Powell has angered Taiwanese officials and lawmakers by making unusually strong comments denying that the island is an independent nation and suggesting Taiwan should unify with China."

Now, isn't China a bad communist country, with lotsa WMDs, and isn't Taiwan a democracy?

He must mean for Taiwan to take over the mainland. Gotta be it. Bush wouldn't sell out a democracy, would he? I mean, give back a country which is seeking political asylum, so to speak, to it's communist parents?

Y'know, this administrations as a huge disconnect between it's words and it's actions.
