Simply put Tom, according to my contention, Bush is the one that Bin Laden wanted in office because he's the more predictable. As you and your cohorts have stipulated many times, Kerry was a flip-flopper. You could never pin him down on an issue. Well, in military strategy those traits can make an opponent unpredictable and tougher to anticipate.

My guess is that it was too difficult for Bin Laden to predict the effect on the election of a strike prior to November 2nd. It all depended on how skillfully the Democrats could turn it back on Bush. Rove would've been using it as a "see how scary things are? Can't change leadership in the middle of a crisis." Kerry's bunch could've used the incident to show how inept Bush was at preventing terrorism. The final effect was out of Bin Laden's hands and he's a control freak.

So much better for him to wait out the election with the polls constantly showing Bush ahead in the waning months. I still think his videotape was aimed at American voter pride by sounding as if he was putting down the president. It gave Kerry no real ammunition to use it against Bush since it would be an inept step to concur with a terrorist. I just wish the guy wasn't a psychotic murderer. He'd be a wonderful addition to our own psychologic operations department.
