One hell of a lot of small businessmen are in the $200,000 and up bracket

And that's the one Kerry was targeting.

We've gone over this before.

- An across-the-board tax cut will, by its nature, give more relief to those who pay the most taxes.

- If the objective of a tax cut is to inject wealth into the private sector to grow the economy, giving tax cuts to those who don't pay very much is not going to do the trick.

For Democrats, the ideal tax cut is one that gives ten million poor people fifty bucks back. Huge amounts of political credit for the politicians, and the voracious maw of the government is only out half a billion bucks. Net positive effect on the economy: about two weeks worth of consumer spending, and then nothing.

I've never been able to figure out what it is about wealth that makes a liberal's shorts ride up. Especially since some rich people, like Soros, Kerry, Moore, Streisand, or many others are just fine and dandy with them. And it's not like any of these people go out of their way to pay extra taxes.
