Interesting.
I think the 1,000,000 probably represents the straightticket voters.
Keyes was so rotten and stupid I might have voted for Obama myself.
Obama, not Hillary represents a possible future for the DNC, if he will liberate himself from the DNC ethnic plantation. If not, he will be another token, used, misused, discarded by the left by 2008.
He has a strong presence, and seems very comfortable and visionary. If he is forced or tempted out to run for the WH in 2008, after < one term, he will go the way of Edwards.
He probably needs a full Senatorial term and successful re-election to have the legs it takes to actually make the WH. Only Lincoln, if I recall, was able to serve less than one term and get to the WH. But Lincoln, too, was from Illinois and did help (albit via war) resolve the north-south split of the day. Hopefully times will be less extreme over the next 6 - 10 years.
I bet on Obama in 2012 to be running for the WH.
