You know something, Tom? In spite of the fact that people here know I am a decent human being with a pretty good brain and an understanding of the community, I couldn't get elected dog catcher because I was rash enough to talk about my religious beliefs candidly when asked. Conformity, or the appearance of conformity, is more important than honesty.
It's the people's right to elect who they want, but excuse the hell out of me if I take offense at being excluded from even the selection process because of my religious beliefs. Now, if I lie through my teeth and say that I've found Jesus, all these doors will open to me. I'll still be the same person, excepting of course that I'll be a liar. That's what "Jesusland" is about for me: exclusion or deceit. It's also why I laughed out loud when I first saw it. One must laugh or go mad.
