Years ago, I was at NASA Kennedy to watch the first launch of the Space Shuttle. The day before the launch, they moved the unloaded crawler away from the pad just in case there was an accident. I watched the crawler going by with the "peddle to the metal". When going "flat out" it is as fast as a fast walk. Supposably NASA's saftey rules requires the driver to always wear a seat belt.
