Might I ask? Are you pissed because the cops used a Taser, or because the authorities used violent force to accomplish their purposes?
I am curious. I shared your position when my local schools wanted to use paddling with fraternity type paddles on the kids in all grades.
Over in Lakeland, Fla., an assistant pricipal gave three licks with paddle to a high school senior honor student because she parked her new BMW in a spot reserved for teachers.
There are some sexual issues that come to mind when a 17 year old female is being administered corporal punishment by an assistant principal. It is difficult to brush this one off.
Perhaps the school administration was pissed because they recognized that the BMW was a students and that teachers couldn't afford that kind of car.
Perhaps........(fill in your own justification here.)
The point is that when we furnish cops with guns. Expect they will use them. When we furnish them with electronic Tasers, expect they will use them. When we give people guns, explosives, or whatever-expect they will use them.
If you are curious, I caused backing off on the corporal punishment situation in my area. I went to the school board and advised I would spend enough to keep any teacher who struck one of my kids in depositions long enough that he would have to be replaced by a full time substitute. Additionally, the school board members would be sued and could plan on spending many hours being deposed. My method would be to never see the situation reach court, but hang like the sword of Damocles over their heads.
Myquestion is, just how pissed are you?
