Good to know that people will still build ambitious things like this.
The Italians still know how to build roads, too. Riding across northern Italy from Nice to Genoa, I drove through a landscape that was corrugated into ridges of mountains and deep valleys. The modern highway cut through huge tunnels to get through the mountains, and leaped across the valleys on enormously high bridges. Dozens and dozens of them. A very impressive engineering feat as well.
