They're "progressives," or maybe there's another term by now. They change the name as often as someone who passes bad checks changes their name, and for much the same reasons.

The official story from the Left is that there weren't any real communists in America after WWII, that the Soviet Union was never any threat at all, and if they were, it was because America was so belligerent and imperialistic. That if America had disarmed unilaterally, that the entire Soviet Empire would have discarded the ways of war and burst into flowers. That the fall of the Iron Curtain was due to the glorious forward-looking Nobel-Prize-winning Gorbachev. Reagan? Who the hell is Reagan? I remember the 1980s quite well, thank you.

There's more. The list of historical rewrites is a mile long. The most vile is that somehow the communist hellholes that resulted in the murders of nearly 100 million people weren't "really" communist at all, and not a reflection of "true" Marxism in the least. They completely ignore the fact that every single nation that has ever modeled itself on Marxism ended up as a totalitarian nightmare of poverty and atrocities, with death barriers to keep their own people from fleeing like animals from a burning forest. Every single one. Across the entire spectrum of cultures, geographies, languages, national histories, available resources, and every other variable. Every single one.
