David F Mayer asked:
"Are the terrorist incidents getting more or less frequent and deadly since the liberation of Fallujah?"
I've wondered the same thing. However a logical tactic for the bad guys as their resources wind down is to attack softer targets. For example, today they killed a bunch of people at a Najaf funeral procession with a suicide driven car bomb. Weddings and funerals are among the softest targets possible and yield a high body count. I would expect the murder rate to peak shortly before the elections. After that the bad guys will have shot their wad in terms of resources and thoroughly alienated the Iraqi populations. The new Iraqi government should have strong Iraqi public support to hunt down bad guys. It's important for the Iraqis to deal with the terrorists themselves so we can disengage. Time will tell.
