re: Progress in Afghanistan
Afghanistan is one of the few good things to come of the Bush administration's post 9/11 policies. Afghanistan, under the extreme fundamentalist Taliban regime was harboring islamic terrorists and allowing them to plan attacks against American targets with impunity. After 9/11 we had real international support for toppling the Taliban government there. It was the right thing to do and I am glad we've succeeded, although significant challenges still lie ahead.
