Maglev launcher question

Hi, i'm a total non-scientist, but i'm fascinated by maglev launchers, and I have a question about them.
I read a bit about maglaunchers which would get rid of the first stage of rockets. But all the literature only deals with maglaunch into LEO, and most of it for micro-sats (humans will get killed because of the high gees).
But now my question: I wanted to know if it would be feasible to create a maglauncher which would merely have to launch a vehicle to say 100 km altitude, for space tourism only.
Would it be possible without using an extra chemical stage?

I read that maglaunchers for microsats are only economically interesting when they launch hundreds (thousands) of times a year. And the market is simply not there.

But hundreds of times a year, only to 100km altitude ... well there's definitely a market for space tourism.

What do you think?
