Thanks all for your comments and patience. As I told you, I'm not a scientist, so I really have no clue. :-)

I think I can conclude that it is theoretically possible to launch tourists into a suborbital 100km altitude parabola, with the tourists suffering quite a bit from high gees, using quite a long maglev track, and that it would be prohibitively expensive.
