The exact way that Google does its ranking is a complex and carefully hidden secret. It isn't simple and they employ literal rocket scientists to do the maths and work out new ways to link things.
It seems to me that one important aspect of it is that Google learns as it goes along. It employs the brains of the individuals who use it to refine it's search criteria and ranking:-
Suppose one day someone Googles on laser guide stars, and your posts about the summit come up, along with a bunch of other stuff. People pick and choose based on the text snippet and the URL. If several people choose your articles, then the context of them gets recorded as valuable for future ranking.
If general HZ articles about anything space or science get chosen by readers, then HZ climbs the rankings.
So you can see that it is our history of discussing interesting topics that brings future attention to us (topics that people choose to browse in preference to other types of webpage). This won't go away, so we have to learn to expect it...
[Don't let it go to your head :-) But do moderate what you post just a little to avoid giving aid and comfort to some current or future enemy who might pervert our noble dreams to a ghastly vision!]
